I have been making and using this same recipe for what seems forever. It seems that many people forget that your lips like the rest of your body also need exfoliating. This little sweet mixture keeps your lips perfectly smooth and always kissable. But not only do I use it on my lips I also use it on my nail cuticles. I used to visit a spa back home in Tennessee and they would always rub my nails with a mixture but instead of brown sugar it contained sea salt. It worked so perfect so I have been doing the same method ever since.
You simply rub a bit of the mixture in a rounded motion for your lips and cuticles and you should not wash it off, the oil is extremely good for you. Make sure that you use the course brown sugar when making this recipe no other kind would work. I just use the packets that you get at Starbucks since I always have some left over, it’s the perfect type. I also use little jars that mini jams come in which is just perfect for projects like this. The taste is so delicious you will want to lip it off your lips. I add a bit of vanilla but you can add any extract or taste you may like.
2 tablespoons brown sugar (course)
A few drops of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon olive oil
1. In a small bowl add brown sugar, honey, vanilla and olive oil, mix well and add into jar with a lid.
Thank you for the DIY! Pinning now.
thank you Emmy
yum. i would be too busy eating it.
Yea it taste really good lol
I also did this sometimes. But you have any tips to store it? I stored in the fridge and the mixture of honey and sugar turned a bit hard. I am not sure if it is ok to store at the room temperature?
Yea this should not be stored in the fridge bc those are all ingredients we keep out anyway, no harm comes to it.
Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in Creative Busy Bee Craft Inspirations, under the Page 1 post on Sep. 10, 2012. Thanks again.
